I wrote a love letter to God that I’d like to share. Sunny is my nickname for Jesus in case you haven’t read my post on nicknames.
Dear Sunny,
I hope you are having a good night (or day since I don’t know what part of the world you are at right now). Jesus I wonder if it’s okay to think more about your life than your death. I know that you died on the cross for our sins and in doing so gave each of us that believe in You eternal life with You in heaven. But, Sunny, I don’t think you want people to remember the pain. I think you want them to focus on your life message: love. God’s love. . .
I’ve been thinking of what your favorite memory on earth must have been. I think it was when you were on the donkey going through Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and people laid coats and branches to make a path. They cheered for You and praised You as King. I’m sorry that not everyone saw that-I’m so sorry Jesus that people are closed off to You and don’t see Your great love for them. I’m so sorry.
On a lighter note, I’m glad that You, Mer, and O Amazing One are in Heaven, together once again and for all eternity. I love You Jesus, and I’m sorry that I don’t always reach out to You like I should. Please reduce me to love-teach me to be a loving person.
