A Friendly Reminder

We give thanks to God and Jesus. We praise them. We think about them, sometimes throughout the day. We thank them and sing about them. But, what about the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is just as important as Jesus and God. He is also a part of the Godhead. Of the Trinity.

I just wonder if it hurts His feelings that He gets left out so much. . . He loves us too and without Him we would not have any guidance. He gives us wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. His fruits are charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, and chastity. Both the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit are incredibly important. Also, don’t forget that He is God Himself. How could we possibly put Him last?

In fact, to be honest, as I write this I’m thinking about all the other things I could be doing–studying, reading the Bible, etc. I am by no means an expert on loving the Holy Spirit the way He should be loved. But, if I want to fulfill God’s plans for me, I feel like I have to change myself and incorporate more time in my life for gratitude for the Holy Spirit and fellowship with Him.

What do you think? How often do you praise and thank the Holy Spirit?
